Chrysler is working a deal with Fiat.

Accordin to Allpar...Nissan and Chrysler has given updates on a "small-car" join venture for North America sales, but didn't say what it was. If I remember right (too late to look right now), they said all of the development stages were just about complete. They want to have it out for the 2010 model year. Also, they said they've selected a name, but weren't going to say anything until the release of the vehicle. Whether or not this is the Hornet is the actual vehicle their talking about, but I hope its something like it at least. Chrysler REALLY needs a vehicle like this, or about the size as the Neon.

But...right now its kind of hard to talk about a vehicle that doesn't currently exist. Thats where there's so little chatting in here about the Hornet. If Chrysler were to announce it, then things would pick up tremendously!

Reported July 31 by Jeremy Cato (authoritative Canadian auto journalist) that the Hornet is coming in 2011. Maybe I could wait til 2010, but 2011?

All I know is that I want another new car to pay off, and I want it to be this one.

that is in a span of 3 years since i bought it so i had to do somthing with my time and money. plus i'm big on individuality so anything i would own wouldn't be stock for long

I was surfing on another forum when I came across this.

I came across this on another mopar site. The poster is a dealer that has seen the new charger/300:

Imo, it's hard to improve on the near perfection if the current exterior design. I think they are going to fukk it up.

yep, no exterior changes need. They just need to give us better suspension, a more powerful engine, manual tranny and maybe refresh the interior a bit.

A 6-speed like the Challenger has would be nice.
I think the new 370hp Hemi will be about it on the HP range for the RT.

I've read where the new Charger is going to have a more retro look to it. But then again, someone is probably just pulling something out of their arse.

I've seen alot of sketches and concepts, but nothing even remotely official from Dodge. I'd be OK with a more retro look, but it's hard to see them messing too much with something that is currently successful and only has 3-years of history.

Maybe 2011 or 2012 for a major face lift?

someone in the Charger Forums tested drove a 6 spd Challenger and said it wasn't all that. I believe his biggest complaint is the gearing is all wrong.

That's dissappointing to hear. I read Hot Rod magazine and they said the 6-speed was perfect.

I just found an article in the Dec. issue of Motor Trend. Under the article "2010: the year the future arrives" was a couple of sentences about the Hornet.

"The 2011 Dodge Hornet. All sheetmetal has changed since the Hornet concept made its 2006 geneva debut. Chrysler is looking to market it as a "fashion" B+ segment car, which means the hatchback body (see Mini) may survive. Will be based on a Nissan platform and produced by that automaker as part of an agreement in which Chrysler will build the next Nissan Titan on a Dodge Ram chassis."
