How much will it weigh?7055 07-05-2008, 02:13 AM General estimate? BOOMBOOM 07-05-2008, 11:12 AM rough geusstimate is about 2100 lbs - 2,500 7055 07-05-2008, 12:17 PM Man thats ridiculous light ua_who 07-05-2008, 02:33 PM Mini cooper = 2700 lbs Chevy cobalt = 2950-3100 lbs I'd guess the target weight is something in that range. Heavier if it's a bigger (2.0 or 2.4 L) engine. BOOMBOOM 07-06-2008, 01:01 AM ok i was a little off i would guess more around the mini if not lighter slim26 07-06-2008, 12:43 PM Yeah I would say around 2700LB with nobody in it. Charlie 07-06-2008, 04:46 PM I am guessing around 2800 pounds. BOOMBOOM 07-06-2008, 04:48 PM why do we think that high.... ok the nsrt weighs 2800-2900 you guys really think it will weigh more then a skittle??? nycalirt 07-06-2008, 07:48 PM With all of the safety features it needs (and should have), I would say around 2800 lbs. I can't see how this can weigh anymore. The Caliber weighs around 3,000-3100 lbs. (Depending on model and if it has AWD). AWD adds about 250lbs to the Caliber. But by the time they added the required safety structure in the door and frame (to get rid of the B-pillar basically) it weighs the same. Charlie 07-07-2008, 04:40 PM that's is one of two reason why the Challenger is so disappointing to me. The other is the Charger interior. they show have spend a little more money to spice up the dash lay out. ua_who 07-07-2008, 05:01 PM that's is one of two reason why the Challenger is so disappointing to me. I agree, I wish it was 3500lbs instead of 4100. 3500 with 425 horse was what I was drooling over a year ago. But I would still trade in my Charger for one in a heartbeat. I like the more retro look that they gave it. BOOMBOOM 07-07-2008, 07:51 PM Another thought on weight: Everyone thought the Challenger would be lighter than the Charger. Yup, you cant have your cake (coupe) and eat it too (low weight) suzq044 07-14-2008, 12:31 AM Like all recent Chrylser vehicles, the Hornet is a bit of a porker at 3,100 pounds - considerably more than, say, the Neon - but it sure has get-up-and-go, with 0-60 times estimated at 6.7 seconds (the 1995 Neon was considered very quick at 7.8, and today's standard compacts usually do 0-60 in upwards of 9 seconds; the Chrysler 300 with 250 hp 3.5 V6 does 0-60 in about 8 seconds, by comparison, and the PT Turbo, with five-speed stick, in about 7.5 seconds, while the SRT-4 is "under six seconds"). .. my guess, close to that. lol ua_who 07-16-2008, 08:51 AM If you look at the horsepower required for a vehicle in this performance range (roughly 14.0-14.5 @ 95-98mph in the 1/4 mile)... ...every 100 lbs in weight requires about 7-8hp more to keep the same 1/4 mile time. i.e. 2800 lbs needs 220hp 3000 lbs needs 235hp 3200 lbs needs 250hp 3400 lbs needs 265hp BOOMBOOM 11-03-2008, 01:59 AM This Thread Is Getting Jacked By The Ghost Of Boomboom...
