joker and harley quinn. next one??maybe??

Nolan has already stated that Joker WILL NOT be re-casted.

From what I heard is that early reports are speculating that Phillip Semour Hoffman will be casted as the penguine and they will create another villian to go along with him.

Two Face might not be dead...you know how the comic universe works.

Robin will NEVER exist in Nolan's Batman universe.

Robin is a complete waste of space. and if they killed off two face in just 25 min of a movie that'd be pretty dissapointing. i would like to see more of him. i want to know who the other villian is going to be. time to go search

edit: penguine, two-face, harley quinn, the mad hatter, and clayface

Im currently reading the 3 Frank Miller graphic novels:

if Nolan stays true to this source material.....the next Batman movie will probably be about Bruce Wayne and his inner battle with who he is and who Batman really is.

I wouldn't be surprised that some time has passed since the end of the last movie (between 5 and 10 years) since Batman has been last scene running away from the "murder site" of Harvey Dent.

Gotham is in complete chaos and something drastic happens that forces Wayne to fight his demons and embrace Batman yet again.

I can see The Penguin not being the main villian but will be in it. Probably as just the master arms dealer in Gotham. They might have to create their own villian for Batman....

I'm not to familliar with the Mad Hatter. Once I read up on some material on him I can make an opinion if he could possibly exist in Nolan's Gotham.

On a side note: Hoffman was being rumoured to play the Penguin in the Dark Knight. i was looking for news articles on this and its from way back in 2005. these articles have also stated the "Rumour" that Heath Ledger was going to be cast as the Joker and you wouldnt imagine how many peopole complained about that and said that he would ruin the movie:notallthere:

there are so many villians in batman its insane. i cant wait for more info on it though. i could see that itd be an aftermath movie with gotham in chaos thou with the way it ended. heath ledger made the movie though with the way he acted.

ther may be lots of villians but there aren't too many that could possibly exist in Nolan's Gotham...remembering that he has built a very grounded and down to earth Gotham.

i can see the Mad Hatter being involved and follow one of his story archs from the comics where he ends up kid-napping Gordan's family. He could be written to wreak total havok on Gotham with his mind-controll chips. It may seem "out there" but is definately in the relm of possibility. Technology is the one thing you can create so thats why I think it would work for Nolan.

Now someone like mr freeze, or man-bat, or poison ivy are all un-realistic characters....even Bane to a certain extent. And somehow i dont see catwoman making an appearence as that character was all but destroyed after the Halle Barrie movie. But then again I thought Batman was destroyed after the Schmacher debacles but nolan/Bale were able to rescue the sinking franchise. Now Bale is about to do the same thing with the Terminator franchise.

But the main focus more than likely be the battle between Bruce wayne and Batman. They should go deep in exploring the dark demons with Wayne (more specifically examing what the murder of his parents and Rachel have done to his soul. Something drastic will then happen to force Wayne to embrace the bat once more (most likely the kidnapping/murder of Lucius fox)...only to find himself become excessively more violent towards criminals and truely losing focus of what Batman truely stands for. There may be war on the street but the focus will be on the war in Wayne's mind.

they wont be able to capitalize on another great performance by Ledger and Ehkart (assuming Harvey Dent really IS dead).....the 3rd installment is going to solely rely on the abilities of Christain Bale. If he can pull this feat off (to help keep the 3rd one close or if not better than the 2nd) he will most definately be in line for best actor oscar nominations.

also honerable mention has to go out to Aaron Ehkart as he was equally as good as Harvey Dent/ 2 Fece.

Ledger was spectacular as Joker but people are forgetting about Ehkart. He technically would be billed as the lead actor. Batman may be the title character but he is not what this story is about. It was the rise and Fall of harvey dent and his transformation into 2 Face. He is the only character with a complete story arc.

The main conflict wasnt between Batman and joker but was Good (Dent) vs Evil (which was symbolized by the Joker). and in this sad story...evil won.

I just saw the movie this week and all I can say was WOW. I too hope that they will bring back 2 face as the main villian. IMO, the battle of Bruce Wayne and the Batman could only be a sub story. It's just not interesting enough of a topic for the main storyline. Maybe they can do a cross over between Superman and Batman with both fighting a common threat.

I have to LOL :jester: at this....will never happen. Unless its in years from now under a different director and with a different batman.

But with Wayne fighting his demons...your right. It will be nothing more than one thread of the main story line.

 a cross between batman and superman would be kinda akward. expecially if they got pissed off at each other and tried to fight.
